NHRA Drag Racing: Main Event is actually a compilation of two games: NHRA Drag Racing 2 Gold and NHRA Pro Stock. If your not interested in the offline racing leagues , get the patch anyways.this patch has plenty to offer to enhance the sim in other areas as well. Version 1.03 has some improvements for your wheel/pedal combos as well as speeding up the replays in the "Championship" race mode , and some more improvements like hitting the "Q" key to escape or quit the game without having to step back thru all the menu screens , this patch also changes the file extensions from "*.race" to "*.game" , the reason for this you asked ? Well , with the new enhancements to the wing on the Top Fuel Dragster and the traction changes it causes , and the traction enhancement of the Top Fuel Funny car , this will ensure that if you run an offline drag racing league , that you are equal to everyone else in the league. March 6th,1999 The NHRA update patch version 1.03 is HERE ! Version 1.04 will arrive around March 15th. Gameplay: The main crux of the game relies on driving straight while. Other than that, the rest of the sound just accompanies the entire game package: there isnt anything too noticeable or memorable here, but a competent job is present.

Now those white rectangles that were just inside the concrete walls have changed into people! And the smoke isn't blocks of white, it looks like smoke! And the lights on the 'Tree aren't blocks of different colors of yellow, but actually look like light bulbs! What a change! Maybe, since the ViRGE is supposed to be a 3D chip as well, is actually helping the 3dfx draw the screens. The chipset didn't change, just the video memory. Does this mean that NHRA uses both cards in drawing it's graphics? I'm inclined to think so. "I have replaced my 2D card, which was a 2 meg generic S3 ViRGE DX card, with a Genoa 4 meg S3 ViRGE DX card. Works out great if nothing else you do with the steering ratio will correct this problem. If it doesn't then load up the latest drivers (visit the hardware accelerator section here at Sim Cyberworld) for your card.If you find that when you do your burnout, your steering wheel ratio may seem to be to slow, but during the run, as you get near the finish line your steering ratio is too sensitive and you can't seem to find a happy medium, try going to your Windows control panel and changing your "Game Controllers" to a standard 2 axis (if you have pedals) controller and this should correct the problem, (not a custom controller). The first thing to try is to install the default Windows 98 3dfx drivers and see if that works for you. It is quite possible to play NHRA on Win 98 with your 3dfx card.
